three years ago? is it still drinkable? Im new and as a rookie I may be unschooled. Please feel free to learn me a new brew lesson. Doesn't home brew have a short shelf life?

Beer Life Span
" By Phil Deren [07/10/2006] 0 Replies
The life span of the brew depends on style, i.e. ingredients used particularly the amount of hops, and primarily storage conditions. Take an IPA for example, this one can easily be aged 3 – 6 months before its optimum taste sets in. Belgian doubles & triples can go even longer (1 – 5 years). I think the oldest “beer” I’ve had was a 10 year old barley wine. My last Belgian brew started as a double turned triple by alcohol… :O)
